Eligibility
आवेदक को बिहार राज्य के स्थायी निवासी होना चाहिए। (Applicant must be a permanent resident of Bihar state.) आवेदक की जाति राज्य सरकार द्वारा निर्गत पिछड़ा वर्ग एवं अति पिछड़ा वर्ग तथा अनुसूचित जाति एवं अनुसूचित जनजाति की सूची में सम्मिलित हो। (The applicant's caste should be included in the list of Backward Classes and Extremely Backward Classes and Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes issued by the State Government.) प्रवेशिकोत्तर छात्रवृत्ति हेतु संबंधित विभाग द्वारा निर्धारित पात्रता के अनुसार आवेदक सहित माता-पिता / अभिभावक का अधिकतम कुल वार्षिक आय वित्तीय वर्ष 2023-24 के लिए रु० 3.00 लाख तक होना चाहिए। तथा अनुसूचित जाति एवं अनुसूचित जनजाति आवेदक के माता - पिता/ अभिभावक के वित्तीय 2023-24 से आय की अधिसीमा 03.00 लाख तक की गयी है। भविष्य में माता पिता/ अभिभावकों के अधिकतम लाभ के संबंध में संबंधित विभाग द्वारा निर्गत आदेश लागू माना जाएगा । प्रवेशिकोत्तर छात्रवृत्ति योजना के अन्तर्गत मैट्रिक / प्रवेशिका परीक्षा उत्तीर्ण करने के बाद उच्चतर कक्षाओं में अध्ययनरत् छात्र / छात्रा ही छात्रवृत्ति के लिए आवेदन कर सकते है। एक स्तर का कोर्स उत्तीर्ण करने के बाद दूसरे समकक्ष कोर्स में अध्ययन करने पर छात्रवृत्ति के हकदार नहीं होंगे, यथा- I.Sc. की परीक्षा उत्तीर्ण करने के बाद I.A., B.A. की परीक्षा उत्तीर्ण करने के बाद B.Com. एवं M.Sc. करने के बाद M.A कक्षा में अध्ययन करने पर छात्रवृत्ति नहीं दी जायेगी। पिछड़ा वर्ग एवं अति पिछड़ा वर्ग में आवेदक के माता-पिता के मात्र 02 (दो) पुत्रों को ही प्रवेशिकोत्तर छात्रवृत्ति प्रदान की जायेगी। यह नियम पुत्रियों पर लागू नहीं होगा, किन्तु अनुसूचित जाति एवं अनुसूचित जनजाति में यह नियम लागू नहीं होगा ।

How to Apply for Bihar Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) Online Form 2023-24 (BC/EBC)
First Step – Institutions have to go with the option Institution registration, on the home page http://pmsonline.bih.nic.in/. Fill up the application as per the instructions given by the portal then click on save button. After successful Institution registration, Institution will receive sms/email for their login details. Upon Institution Registration - For Signing In the Portal will instruct the person to login with Institution Login Name/Mobile No/Email Once Logged in, Institution is required to fill the Registration form in Details and Click Save Upload the Documents (Scan Copy of originals in PDF Format, File Size:150 KB) on the website. The Institution then need to add details of courses approved from competent authorities where post matric scholarship students of BC, EBC, SC and ST students pertaining to Bihar are studying. Second Step - Student have to go with the option Student registration, on the home page http://pmsonline.bih.nic.in/. Fill up the application as per the instructions given by the system then click on save button. After successfully student registration, student will receive sms/email for his/her login details. Upon Student Registration - For Signing In the system will instruct the applicant to login and submit his/her Student Login Name/Mobile No/Email Once Logged in, Student is required to fill the Application form in Details and Click Save Upload the Documents (Scan Copy of originals in PDF Format, File Size:150 KB) on the website. Third Step - Student should upload the requisite documents, finalize the application and take a print out of the application by clicking on Print button for future reference. Fourth Step - Mere applying the portal does not make the student eligible for the Scholarship payment rather a well-defined procedure as laid down by Education Department, Govt. of Bihar will be followed before releasing Post Matric scholarship to the BC, EBC, SC and ST students.

About Post Matric Scholarship
State scheme for providing scholarship to meritorious students of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes and Extremely Backward Classes studying in post matric class within the state and outside the state, Establishment and Committed Expenditure and Post Matric Scholarship Scheme under Centrally Sponsored Scheme is operated. Under this scheme, scholarship is given to the students studying in a duly recognized college/ university/ Institute. Under this scheme, funds are provided by the State Government and the Central Government.
